Pär Engholm is interested in questions concerning the philosophy and sociology of science and the philosophy of language and questions regarding the mind and evolutionary epistemology. The subject of his PhD thesis is American Pragmatism with particular focus on Richard Rorty. The provisional title of his thesis is "Richard Rorty, the Revival of Pragmatism and the Abolition of Epistemology - The Dissolution of Analytic Philosophy and the Resurrection of Pragmatism". The thesis is both an historical and analytical exposition of the implosion and demise of the Analytic philosophy and the formulation of a neopragmatist position in the aftermath of the radical questionings of the foundations of the Analytic school by Sellars, Quine and Davidson.

Pär has extensive lecturing experience in a variety of subjects, ranging from social theory, sociology of work, methodology and cultural sociology. He also supervises a number of undergraduate students.
